### Lesson Outline
1. **Introduction (5 minutes)**
- Warm-Up Activity: Start with a quick question to engage students: "What do you think of when you hear the term 'social studies'?" Write their responses on the whiteboard.
- Briefly introduce the lesson topic and objectives.
2. **Direct Instruction (10 minutes)**
- Use a brief slideshow or video to define social studies and outline its major areas (geography, history, civics, economics, etc.).
- Explain the main objectives of social studies:
1. Developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
2. Understanding human interactions and societal functions.
3. Promoting citizenship and civic responsibility.
4. Enhancing cultural awareness and appreciation.
5. Building knowledge of historical events, geographic locations, social and political systems.
3. **Group Activity (15 minutes)**
- Divide the students into small groups and provide each group with a chart paper and markers.
- Assign each group one of the objectives of social studies to explore in detail.
- Ask groups to discuss and list specific examples and reasons why their assigned objective is important.
- Have each group present their findings to the class.
4. **Class Discussion (10 minutes)**
- Facilitate a discussion on the findings from the group activity.
- Use guiding questions to delve deeper into the importance of social studies, such as:

- "Why is it important to know about different cultures?"

5. **Reflection (5 minutes)**
